Exchanging wedding vows is one of the most important parts of getting married. It doesn’t matter if you get married in a church or at the local justice of the peace, the wedding vows are no less important.
Regardless of where you choose to get married you can either choose traditional wedding vows, or you can decide to write your own. Many couples these days choose to write their own vows, but as easy it as sounds, it’s not always so easy for them to do. This is especially so for someone who believes they cannot “write”.
If you have chosen to write your own wedding vows and you seem to be stuck in a rut, there are many places you can go for inspiration and to help you get a start. You don’t want to copy the wedding vows of course, because it takes away from the purpose of writing your own. Gaining inspiration from other sources though can be a big help.
When writing your wedding vows, consider your heart. You are about to embark on an incredible journey with the one person in the world out of millions who simply sets your heart aflutter. It doesn’t matter if you are a guy or a girl, the same holds true. This one person is the one that makes your heart skip a beat when you see them, so that’s where your real start is.
What is it about this person that does that to you? Your wedding vows should take this into consideration. What is it that makes you proud to be marrying this person? That should be considered in writing your wedding vows as well.
Now, if you are someone who has chosen to go with the traditional wedding vows, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that, but why would you if you are working hard at making everything else about your wedding truly unique? You don’t have to be a professional writer to write your own wedding vows. You are not writing to win the Pulitzer Prize.
What you are doing however, is writing a set of vows, that are meant to tell everyone, the whole world in fact that you have chosen this person to be your one and only love in life, and why you have chosen this person to be the one in your life.
Writing your own wedding vows has become so very important to people, that there have been products created specifically for that purpose. Searching online can take care of finding those products for you, because that is beyond the scope of this article, but there are indeed products, software and eBooks out there that will help you along the way in writing your own wedding vows.
I suggest that you save your money though. The information that you need is right here in front of you. Tell people what’s in your heart. Tell the person that you chose exactly why they are so special to you. There is no set structure for this. It’s simply saying what you feel.
